After completing my four-year degree at the University of Georgia, I was offered a position with the Atlanta Falcons which has sharpened and broadened my skill set since leaving the University.
While working for the Atlanta Falcons, I have been able to focus my time on sharpening my skills behind the camera and furthering my skills in post-production. Working every game and traveling with the team has allowed me to understand the culture the Falcons and the ability to show that through the lens. Every game I am tasked with filming anything from game highlights, fan interaction, mic'd up, bench sounds and more. During the weeks I shoot press conferences and open locker room which has given me an opportunity to know the athletes and coaches which helps them trust me when filming. Along with shooting the team I put together pieces for our social media and website. I have had the opportunity to edit feature pieces, mic'd up, weekly game trailers and more. My time with the Falcons has been invaluable to me.
As an intern with Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing (GBSM), I have cultivated skills that will make me a valuable team member. As an intern, I have been responsible for filming games and finding moments that elevate the game experience for the fans through my lens. Throughout my work week I categorize and file clips to edit videos for the different UGA social platforms including Twitter, Instagram and the Georgiadogs website. Each platform has unique needs and requires specific attention. When I am not filming the game, I work on the melt and pulling clips from the broadcast and radio calls to be used in different promotional platforms. Through my internship with UGA and GBSM I have developed several techniques for editing as well as incorporating different effects to elevate the end product.
I also work as an independent contractor with Daktronics. This experience has taught me to work quickly and efficiently under pressure to provide fans the best and most memorable experiences possible. Throughout my time with Daktronics, I have held multiple positions, each requiring quick decisions to perform while taking direction from the producers and directors of the show. Additionally, I have learned how to focus on the task at hand, while multitasking. Daktronics has been invaluable in teaching me the different areas of sports media production.
Finally, as a student of the John H. Carmichael Sports Media Institute, the only such program in the Southeastern Conference, I have submitted game reports, recorded in-game stats, announced play-by-play, held postgame interviews, created packages and hosted a television studio show. Being a committed and fast learner has allowed me to develop my skills. I have improved with each assignment and have become proficient in making deadlines.
